More This and That

My friend Sarah Mlynowski's new book, Gimme a Call, is out.  It's Sarah at her best:  awesome and hilarious premise (girl has cell phone that allows her to call her 14 y.o self and try to fix her life by changing the past) --

and there is this great "Dear H.S. Self" thing going on on Twitter, where people give advice to their younger selves.  Click here to read all the entries people have written, including those by Neil Gaiman, Libba Bray, me, Lauren Myracle, John Green, Maureen Johnson, Ally Carter, Tara Altebrando, and lots of other authors.

In other news, today I got a facial and the lady VACUUMED MY FACE.  With a mini vacuum.  It was surreal.

Also, today involved:
 massive revisions,
a really deeply sub-par vietnamese sandwich,
 huge quantities of coffee,
a truly disgusting cat pee incident,
my first-ever attempt to make cinnamon rolls
(Bittman!  Why didn't they rise all the way??? I did everything you said!),
 more massive revisions and
a good pep talk from my agent.

Now I think I'll pass out.

But not before I tell you that on May 15th I will be at Kids Ink bookshop in Indianapolis with NYTimes bestselling author and Nerdfighter John Green. 2 PM.

Hope to see you there!

Georgia Peach, Random Buzzers, Vintage Veronica

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks is a Georgia Peach nominee for next year! Click here to see a video about the nominees. Congratulations to Suzanne Collins for Hunger Games' win this time around.

Also, you can win a paperback of Fly on the Wall over at Random Buzzers, with the hot new superhero cover.

In other news, I am reading Vintage Veronica by Erica Perl. It's a first novel by the picture book author of the awesomely addictive Chicken Butt.   For anyone who loves vintage clothes, as I do, and a smart, unusual female narrator with a great voice, as I also do, I really recommend it.  Clothes and character, humor and complicated friendships and even a little romance. What more can you want?

Also listening to Hunger Games.  I am at the bit with fire bombs. Ahhhhh!!!
