H's Boyfriend List

H. sent in this excellent, romantic and edifying boyfriend list:

1. Mark G.--I kissed him once, the day before my 16th birthday, so I wouldn't be sweet 16 and never-been-kissed. I broke up with him the next day.

2. Mark C.--my first love, the one I waited six years to be old enough for only to have a long distance relationship that faded into nothing.

3. Kevin--was not my boyfriend, but I wanted him to be for two long years.

4. Byron--my college boyfriend about whom I no longer have any complaints considering my own behavior at the time.

5. James--was not my boyfriend, but I wanted him to be for two long years. See a pattern?

6. Matt--sometimes when things don't work out with someone decent, the best solution is to fix them up
with one of your close friends.

7. Greg--was my close friend, but i was prepared to lose the friendship to go out with him and guess what? I did.

8. Chris--he devotes most of his time and energy to loving me, and he has a heart of gold, and I love him
back equally (even if I'm lazier and more difficult), and he is my LAST boyfriend.

What Kind of Cheese Are You?

Cheese Test: What type of cheese are you?

"You are mozzarella! You are a shiny, soft, round cheese. You are very imaginative and creative, but you don't like to stand out. You don't mind solitude at times and you love to do art.
The plastic, spun-curd buffalo milk cheese Mozzarella, originated from southern Italy. Pasteurized milk is curdled at 90 degrees F and the curd is cut. Extra time in the vat is allowed so that the curd can sink to the bottom and so that the lactic acids can soften the curd to make it easier to knead. The curd is treated with extremely hot water (200 degrees F) and is kneaded into a shiny lump. Bits of the mass are taken off cooled salted and are soon ready to be marketed. [ Country: Italy || Texture: soft ]"

Hm.
I don't much like mozzarella, actually, except on pizza.

Diet Root Beer, Carmen Electra, etc.

RedGummiA survey. Because I can't resist this kind of thing.

1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
"Tavern on the Green." It's the Zagat Restaurant Survey for New York City, 2002.

2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?:
A pair of black cotton undies.

3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?:
Channel-surfing, last night I saw a little bit of some weird show on VH1 where Carmen Electra was hosting; it appeared to be a show of bloopers where newscasters inadvertently said things that sounded dirty. Like "it's a very big erection year. Ohh! Did I say that!? Hee hee!"

4: A good drink is…:
Diet root beer.

5: Grooming product you don't want to be without:
Cream blusher.

6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?:
The cat is purring at me expectantly. I don't know what she wants. Traffic on the rainy street outside.

7: When did you last step outside? what were you doing?:
Yesterday afternoon; I went to the park. I was vainly wearing a stretchy silver shirt and ended up freezing.

8: What are you currently reading?
This morning I finished The Nice and the Good, by Iris Murdoch. Then I read a little Entertainment Weekly.

9: What are you wearing?:
The jeans with the funny pockets, and two gray hoodies -- one cotton and one fleece – one on top of the other. Favorite slippers.

10: Did you dream last night? What about?:
I didn't dream. I didn't sleep well either. I kept waking up to drink water, take my socks off, put my socks on, reorganize the pillows.

11: What did you last eat?
Raisin bran, coffee, and orange juice.

12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?:
Photographs of my family; 2 Betty and Veronica dolls; one Archie "wacky wobbler"; one Rosie the Riveter action figurine; my prom dress. A postcard of a painting by J.M. Turner entitled "Wreckers – the coast of Northumberland, with a Steam Boat Assisting a Ship Off Shore."

13: Seen anything weird lately?:
A friend of mine fell asleep on the floor in the middle of a party.

14: What do you think of this quiz?:
It reminds me of a similar quiz I did in 1998; when my friend R. was dying last year, I printed out his responses and mine, and we read over them in the hospital.

15: What is the last film you saw?:
Lost in Translation.

16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?:
A 5-bedroom apartment.

17: Tell me something about you that I don't know:
I have been keeping photo albums since 11th grade. I have about twelve of them, now, filled up.

18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?:
Change the way we treat animals so that it is humane and respectful, most particularly the way meat and animal byproducts are produced and consumed.

19: Do you like to dance?:
Love it.

20: Would you ever consider living abroad?:
Yes. I think I need to live somewhere where English is the primary language, though. I am poor at learning languages, and talking fluently is very important to me.

21: Will you pass on this survey?:
Here it is.
