Things I Wish I Knew in High School

  • If someone tells you that you are oversensitive, that person is probably a jerk.
  • Always use protection. Yes, you. Yes, always.
  • Boys who say, “I’m kind of messed up,” probably are.
  • If someone asks for your phone number and that person
creeps you out, it's okay to give the wrong number.
  • When you don't want to talk to someone, you don't
have to pick up the telephone.

About the Amazon Links

  • The thumbnail images of books and albums on this site connect you to Amazon.com -- but that's because Amazon and my web service provider have a partnership, so it's extremely easy to put images on my site.
However, I don't get any kind of kickback if you buy any of these items and I don't endorse any particular bookstore over any other.

lauren

Oooo, love the fifties glamour of it! Perfect for you AND the book. And jazz hands! Yay!!!!!!!!

dawn

i absolutely cannot wait to read this.

jeannie curtis

It's sounds like it could be a hit. Just make sure you write it well. And please don't make it TOO intense, (i'm not shallow or anything, but) books with plots like this have the potential to be good, as long as the writer doesn't go over the top.
I really thought the "Boyfirend List" was a diamond. I hope Ruby will stop acting like a loser and get over Jackson in the Boy Book.

Best wishes and good luck to ya!

Blue

IT sounds SO COOL! but it is coming from you! so it has to be

Somewhere That's Green! I was so happy to see this. I recently recieved the part of Audrey in my school's musical (so we're doing Little Shop of Horrors, evidently)and I love the song so much. I'm glad you have so many great tunes in one place!

E. Lockhart

So glad you liked the playlist, K. I had so much fun making it!
And congratulations on your part. You must have a great voice.

I can't wait to read Dramarama, I love The Boyfriend list and The boy book. Me and my friend use your book as sort of a bible for girls when we have issues with relationships. Hope that's not weird haha. But yes, I bet Dramarama will be another hit.

thank you!

Kelsi

I searched not one, not two, not three, but FOUR bookstores in hopes of finding The Boy Book a week after it came out (I finally succeeded at 10:58, in an empty Borders). I am having a premonition that the same thing is going to happen with Dramarama, unless I preorder it, which would go against my procrastinating tendencies. I am so excited for this new book! You are my hero, E. Lockhart!!

E. Lockhart

Thanks so much, you guys. All these comments are going to go to my head!

Olivia (and your fellow Canadians and non-iTunes users) -- here is the Dramarama imix link:

are here, on an iMix. You click on the link above and iTunes will open straight to the mix. Listen before you read Dramarama to make sure you get every little musical reference. Listen afterwards to get a sense of Sadye and Demi's musical world. In any case, these are some of my favorite showtunes of all time. Songs from Rent, Wicked, Guys & Dolls, Cabaret, Chicago, Bye Bye Birdie, Oliver!, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Jersey Boys, Grease, Fame, Sweet Charity, Little Shop of Horrors, and more.
