Things I Wish I Knew in High School

If someone tells you that you are oversensitive, that person is probably a jerk.

creeps you out, it's okay to give the wrong number.
When you don't want to talk to someone, you don't

I snagged this idea from Kate Brian, whose new book PRIVATE, I just read.
omigod, by the way.
so good.
I liked it way better than some of those other books about the highbrow glitterati lives of the teenagers of the very very wealthy.
Private really functions like a mystery --
WHY do the elite Billings girls of the fancy dancy boarding school accept new sophomore Reed into their circle? What do they want from her? What are their secrets?

I was completely hooked. And even though Reed makes some STUPID decisions, it's clear where she's coming from and why she is willing to do almost anything to get in with this powerful clique. The girl needs a ticket out of where she came from -- and the Billings girls offer her escape and empowerment, not just popularity.
A warning, however. The dang thing is a series, and it ends on a CLIFFHANGER. New one is not out until nearly five months from now -- according to Brian's myspace.

headgear, rubber bands. And I've still got an overbite.
